Top 5 Maps and Navigation Apps in Qatar Q1 2023

During the first quarter of 2023, the Maps and Navigation category in Qatar saw interesting trends across the top five apps on a unified platform. Here’s a closer look at the performance of Uber - Request a ride, Waze Navigation & Live Traffic, Karwa Journey Planner, Careem – rides, food & more, and Karwa - Official.

Uber - Request a ride experienced a gradual decline in weekly downloads, starting at around 14.2K in late December 2022 and dropping to approximately 7.1K by the end of March 2023. Despite this, weekly active users remained relatively stable, with minor fluctuations between 86K and 95K throughout the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained a consistent download rate, hovering between 5K and 6.7K downloads per week. Weekly active users showed stability as well, staying within the range of 195K to 206K, indicating a loyal user base.

Karwa Journey Planner saw a significant decrease in weekly downloads, starting at around 7.5K and ending at approximately 1.3K by the end of March. Weekly active users also showed a downward trend, from about 52K to 42.8K over the same period.

Careem – rides, food & more experienced notable fluctuations in downloads, peaking at 3.6K in mid-February and then dropping to around 773 by the end of March. Active users followed a similar pattern, decreasing from 40.7K to about 32K during the quarter.

Karwa - Official had a relatively stable download rate, with a slight increase in late February reaching 1.7K downloads. Weekly active users varied slightly, starting at 3K and ending at around 2.3K by the end of March.
